What is a lace wig?
A lace wig, also called a lace "unit", "hair system" or "cranial hair prosthetic", are hair extensions that create the illusion that hair is growing out of one's scalp, and therefore is one of the most natural looking extensions on the market. This is achieved by the method of the lace wig construction. A fine lace material is used as the base where individual hairs are meticulously hand tied onto the lace. The term 'full lace' denotes that the base cap is made fully of lace, while 'lace front' wigs have lace in front and different materials at the back of the cap. One is also able to purchase a 'lace frontal' hair piece that can be used with weaving wefts. With this arrangement, the wefts are glued or sewn into one's hair and the lace frontal applied only at the hairline. [return to top]
What is the difference between a lace front and a full lace wig?
A lace front wig has adjustable straps or stretch material in the back, and therefore cannot be worn in a high ponytail with the back showing. While the full lace wig is lace all around, and can be worn up in a high ponytail. Both wigs can be parted anywhere, anyhow, and both offer a natural look. [return to top]
What Lace Cap Choice Is Best For Me - French Lace or Swiss Lace?
There are typically two types of lace materials used to make the base cap- Swiss and French lace. French lace is more durable than Swiss lace and it is the best choice for new lace wig wearers. The French lace tends to last longer and is virtually tear resistant during the application process when using tougher glues and bonds. The French Lace is thin, delicate and natural looking.
The Swiss Lace is more undetectable but the main concern is that the lace breaks down faster and can rip much easier; if the lace rips this will make your lace wig system unusable. Again! - The Swiss lace is the most undetectable of the laces, but the most fragile. The Swiss lace cap choice is best for experienced lace wig users.
Overall , both French and Swiss lace look extremely natural and as the lace seems to disappear into your scalp when applied with our special surgical bonds and lace tape. Your unit will come with extra lace extending from the hairline, which you will trim off to custom fit your hairline and then bond with your choice of adhesive.
TIP: Swiss lace is very fine and delicate and is the most undetectable choice. Though French lace is not as undetectable (but also a suitable choice), its advantage is that it is more durable over time. [return to top]
Who wears these wigs?
Some people wear lace wigs and frontals out of a necessity due to medical conditions that bring about hair loss (such as alopecia). What If I have Experienced severe hair loss due to an illness or chemical damage ?Is this type of wig right for me?
Absolutely! I highly recommend this system for anyone with any kind of hair loss or undergoing Chemotherapy. If you suffer from a medical condition where you have experienced sever hair loss, it's recommended to proceed with full French or full Swiss lace. How do lace front wigs differ from "regular" wigs?
The main advantage of the full lace wig over other styles is that one can wear their hair in up dos, ponytails, and other styles that expose one's nape area. Traditional wigs usually preclude these styling options. Lace wigs are also more lightweight and comfortable than traditional wigs due to the minimization of tension on the scalp [return to top]

What kind of hair is used?
Our wigs are made with regular Remy and Virgin Remy hair. Depending on the style or texture achieved, the hair goes through some processing which makes it less prone to tangling or matting that is often experienced with hair widely available in local markets. Curly and wavy styles have more processing than those that are not as they are processed for both a color and the curl pattern. Because Indian and Chinese hair is naturally dark, light colored hair goes through an extra process where the dark color has to be stripped and then the lighter color added. Therefore, light colored hair is processed more than the darker colors (unless you choose Virgin light colored hair which does not go through this step; however, it is also more rare and very expensive). This is why we do not offer very curly styles in lighter colors because the additional process of the permanent curl (on top of the color stripping and color adding) will be too damaging to the hair. Natural light colored hair (blondes and light browns, for example) are available by special order per market prices. Usually this hair originates from Russia or Ukraine. [return to top]
What is Remy Indian hair?
Remy hair, also called virgin, cuticle or cut hair; is the highest quality human hair you can find on the market. WE ONLY MANUFACTURE OUR LACE WIGS WITH THE BEST REMY HAIR AVAILABLE ON THE MARKET. The hair is in the most natural state, free from chemical processing of any kind.
Remy hair is special because each bundle comes directly from a single donors head. This allows each bundle to keep the consistency of texture, color, and length. It is then cleaned and sorted to be packaged. The cuticles of the hair are all intact and facing in the same direction. This eliminates the worrisome pain of tangles and matting. Can I apply and maintain the wig myself? Do I need to have any special styling skills to apply?
Though there is somewhat of a learning curve for perfecting your application, you do not need to have the skills of a licensed cosmetologist to benefit from these extensions. Can I wear lace wigs if I have a full head of hair?
Absolutely! One can braid/cornrow, twist, wrap, or flatten hair to prepare for application. The main objective is to get one's hair as flat as possible for the most natural look. [return to top]
Is it really undetectable?

Can I wear different textures and colors than my own?
Absolutely! Once you apply beyond your natural hairline, you can go from a long & straight to short & curly. The choice is up to you. [return to top]
What are the different textures you offer?
We offer Indian Remy, Yaki Remy, and European Remy Hair. We also offer straight, curly, body wavy, kinky curly, loose wavy, wavy, and some other textures. The yaki remy is exactly like relaxed African American hair, while the indian remy hair is a bit silkier. The european remy is the silkiest hair available. [return to top]
Can you Duplicate a Celebrity Picture or Photo of me?
We can duplicate any picture that you send to us! - You can do this by simply placing a custom lace front wig order and within the "order form" there is a option where you will be able to insert your own picture! You can specify weather you want the similar color of the photo, similar texture, or even style! [return to top]
How is the length measured and how do I know what length to buy?
The length of our wigs is measured from the crown to the hair's tip (from front to back). The length of layered hairstyles will be described based on the length of the hair before styling. Use measuring tape to measure from the crown of your head to where you want the hair to fall. If the hair of the wig is longer than what you desire, you can have it expertly cut by your stylist. Do I have to use adhesives to wear my wig?
No- the bobby pin method will work just fine also (using bobby pins to attach wig to client's own hair). It really will depend on your circumstances and lifestyle. Some clients like to remove their wigs on a daily basis and find that pinning it down is convenient even though it allows for less styling options. Others may want to maximize the length of hold and their styling options by applying the wig on their heads' full perimeter with adhesives. What are some recommended Lace Wig Adhesives?
There are three main ways to attach the lace wig system. That is by special glues, tape, or a combination of the two methods.
We carry all the medical grade adhesive glues that will not irritate the skin and provide a long lasting hold. We break our glues into three separate base types; that being silicon, acrylic and copolymer. Each have different lasting properties but all are well tested and have been in used for years for lace. Using Beginner Glues
The Mity Tite is a medical grade acrylic glue that can be used for an application duration of 1-10 days. The application duration depends mainly on how much glue is applied and if the combination of lace tape is involved. The Mity Tite is the most popular glue that is used by beginners during the application process.[return to top]
Using Expert Glues
The Safe Grip is a copolymer medical adhesive and is the latest development in applying lace to the scalp. This glue can provide an application duration of 1-6 weeks. The Safe Grip adhesive does not break down by your body oils, sweat, or perspiration. It is very flexible and dries completely transparent, making sure that no one sees the bond or the lace on your scalp. The Safe Grip is the most popular used by experienced users.[return to top]
Using Tape Adhesives
The type of Lace Wig Tape used for wig application is a special, clear, two-sided lace tape adhesive. The lace tape comes available in a pack of 30 pieces and is applied directly on your scalp or wig cap by simply attaching the lace onto the tape. The double sided tape is clear and holds the lace very well. The duration of lace tape is can last 1-3 days.[return to top]
Please note: To ensure the best hold possible for your lace wig system; You may use the tape with and beginner glue or expert glue. Although the combination of Mity Tite and Tape is most preferred by new lace wig users. [return to top]

Can I wear the wig behind my hairline?
Yes, many of our clients do- especially ones with smaller foreheads who cannot afford the room to apply the wig in front of their natural hairline. [return to top]
How long will my wig last?
The life of your wig will depend on your use and care of it. If handled properly, it should last you 6 months to a year and even longer depending on your handling & use. The types of glues that are used during the application method also applies to the life span of your unit. For example, the lace wig can be compared to the tires on car; of course the more you drive your car, the more worn down the tires become and the need for replacement tires becomes greater. The idea remains that if you plan to wear your wig more often, the natural need for a new unit will become greater as the hair naturally degrades due to extended periods of use. [return to top]
How long can I wear my wig at a time?
Your extended wear will depend on what adhesives you use, your body chemistry and how your skin responds to the adhesives, and how frequently you wish to re-apply. We stress that it is important for you to be mindful of your hair and scalp condition underneath during extended wear. Most clients achieve a 1-2 week hold with the right adhesive, washing and nurturing their own hair in between applications. If you are bald or have significant hair loss, you are likely to achieve a much longer hold. [return to top]
What density should I order and why does it matter?
The density refers to how thick the hair is and what density you order is really based on personal choice. Most women achieve a natural appearance with light to medium or medium density; however, your choice will depend on your styling preferences and individual profile. [return to top]
Can I send in a template of my head?
Yes, we accept head templates to achieve the best fit. You can follow the instructions on the measurement form for your custom wig. Please note that we do not return head templates to customers once they are received for production and the use of a template will extend your delivery time by one week. [return to top]
Can I swim in it, play sports, go to the gym and sweat with this wig on?
Yes, you can exercise in your wig if you apply with an adhesive that works with your body chemistry and can withstand this type of activity. You can do your usual activities with this wig on daily. Only avoid swimming or sweating for 24 hours after applying adhesives and tapes. If you use the Safe Grip Copolymer bond, you only have to wait until it is dry. Other than that, no one will ever know the hair is not growing from your own scalp! Also make sure you use a waterproof adhesive. Not all adhesives and glues are waterproof. The combination of the Scalp Protector and Safe Grip Copolymer bond will ensure the strongest and best water resistant application available. [return to top]
Will the hair on my lace wig curl up when wet?
Yes! This hair is 100% human hair and reacts to styling with natural water just like your own natural hair. The remy hair straight/curly/wavy textures curl up when wet, but they can easily be flat ironed for a straight look. [return to top]
Can I style this hair with curling irons, roller sets, beauty products etc?
The hair is 100% human hair that can withstand household styling tools such as curling irons and flat irons.
Remy hair can be dyed, permed, styled, set and blown dry to suit the individual. It is the softest and most natural hair available to buy. It looks and feels like actual hair, because it is! This hair is not something you see in at the beauty supply store because of the price. Because of its quality, most people pay around $900 - $3500 and up for these same wigs. Again, You can wash, set, and style the wig as you would your own hair. But like your natural hair, the hair can get damaged with the misuse and overuse of products. [return to top]
Can I have a style or color made that is not currently shown in your gallery?
Yes, our catalog is being continually updated so not every available style is represented on the site. We offer customized items at reasonable prices. Please send us your photos and detailed information on how you would like your wig made and we will provide you with a quote. [return to top]
Can I dye the hair?
The technical answer is yes, but we do not recommend any further processing of the hair if it has already been dyed and processed. Further, only experienced colorists should attempt to color the hair. Remember that though the hair is 100% human hair, it is just as prone to damage from excessive processing as your own hair. Can I wear my lace front wig in a high ponytail?
Yes, you can wear your wig in a high ponytail once you apply around your full perimeter with adhesives. You will need a cap construction that is made with lace around the perimeter. [return to top]
Can I part my lace wig and where can lace wigs be parted?
Lace wigs can be parted anywhere on the cap. If you are covering your hair, the trick is to have your parts look natural by either wearing a stocking or wig cap that is close to your skin's color. Some clients can even get a natural looking part without wearing a wig cap. [return to top]

What accessories will I need along with my wig?
You will need the tapes or glue to apply the wig. You will also need an adhesive remover to remove adhesive whenever you need to take off. The scalp protector is also recommended but not necessary. All these items can be purchased in our Accessories Section. [return to top]
Do you offer instructions on how to wear my wig?
Yes, instructions on how to wear your lace front wig will be included along with your order. You will also receive information on how to take the best care of your wig. How do I measure my head for a Custom Wig?

How do I obtain a quote for a custom made order?
You may fill out our custom order forms in the custom wigs section to receive a final quote & payment details. Remember that it is impossible for us to contact you about your quote if you do not supply us with valid contact information. Once you are ready to place an order, all fields should be completed. What forms of payment are accepted for online purchases?
We accept Visa and Mastercard and also process payments through PayPal. The customer can make the choice during the checkout process. We also accept valid Money Orders by mail. We will only hold an item if we receive verification (tracking information or delivery confirmation) that the money order has been mailed. Once the money order clears, we will ship your order. Will you send an order confirmation via email?
All orders will follow with an order confirmation email. Once your order has shipped, you will receive another email with your tracking number information. Please allow up to 48 hours for your tracking number to register in the carrier's system. [return to top]
Do you provide repair services on your units?
Yes, we do provide repairs for units purchased from Glam Hair Solutions. Glam Hair Solutions gives you the option to purchase an insurance plan that can be purchased for 1 year at the price of $100 or for 2 years at the price of $175. This insurance allows you to have your wig repair 2 times per year anytime during that period for a small fee to cover only the shipping cost. The repair includes; adding additional hair to the unit, fixing any tear of the lace, adding density and any other minor repairs included on the insurance form. For those without the insurance plan, the cost of the repair will depend on the amount of work that is needed. If you have good pictures and a description of the problem, we can estimate the charge this way, but we do need to see it in person to know the exact work that needs to be done. Typical repairs take about 4-5 weeks and start at $75. [return to top]

My order total was modified or cancelled so why is there a charge still on my credit card?
Glam Hair Solutions will process an authorization on your card when the order is placed. An authorization or pending transaction ensures that there are enough funds in the account and allocates the amount needed for the order. However, an authorization will drop off your account unless we actually charge your card for the funds. If we cancel your order and have not processed the charge, the authorization will still show in your account for 2-5 business days depending on your bank's policies. If you need to cancel the authorization prior to this time, please call your bank to inquire about their policies for doing so. If we have actually charged the funds, the funds will be refunded within 2-5 business days. Your bank will be able to verify whether the transaction is an authorization vs. a charge. [return to top]
Wig Payment Plan and Wholesale
Do you offer a Wig Payment Plan?
We now offer a wig payment plan. You now have a choice of making payment installments when purchasing a wig. A 65% down payment is required in order to begin processing your order. Your wig will be shipped to you once full payment has been received.
There are no refunds under any circumstances for layaway items. Please email us at info@glamhairsolutions.com if you are interested in using our payment plan.
Wig Payment Plan
To participate in our Wig Payment Plan please proceed to checkout as usual. During checkout you will be asked to enter a PROMO CODE. Enter "DEFERRED" as the PROMO CODE. (The promo code is case sensitive you must enter this code as you see it, all caps). Please note that this PROMO CODE will postpone 35% of your lace wig payment. THIS IS NOT A DISCOUNT.
This will allow you to pay a deposit of 65% to begin the production of your lace wig. The total on this invoice after the PROMO CODE does not represents the total amount you owe; this is only the payment we need to begin making your wig. Once your unit is completed and ready to be shipped you will be notified and sent a final invoice for the FINAL PAYMENT.
The FINAL PAYMENT is the amount being removed from this invoice. We can not ship your unit until we receive the FINAL PAYMENT. If FINAL PAYMENT is not paid within 15 business days of the final invoice you will be charged a $50 late fee. In addition you will forfeit all deposits/payments if we do not receive your FINAL PAYMENT within 30 days of final invoice.
Please send us the final payment at the time we notify you and we will ship your new unit to you within 48 hours. Please note that by paying this invoicing you are agreeing to our terms stated in our Wig Payment Plan.
